Attorney Bonnie Loomis, a lifelong native South Carolinian, grew up in Mt. Pleasant, SC. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina Joseph F. Rice School of Law and after earning her Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina Honors College with a focus on government and international studies.
Lawyer Loomis’ legal career includes more than thirty years of work across all three branches of South Carolina state government: judicial, legislative, and administrative. Her legal practice focuses on family law, and she uses her litigation experience with the firm’s civil and probate litigation clients. Her decades of experience with administrative agencies at the state and local level informs her work on utility matters, liquor licensing development permitting, and any other need involving administrative processes and advocacy within those settings.
Of particular interest to the Grand Strand community, Lawyer Loomis’ pre-law career included work in residential housing development. And, as a lawyer/lobbyist, she worked full-time in and around the state legislature when it grappled with revisions to the SC Homeowners Association (HOA) Act that enhanced reporting requirements for HOA Boards. Bonnie uses this knowledge to provide passionate advocacy for homeowners and skilled advice for Boards, seeking to achieve balance between the interests of each.
Lawyer Loomis is a dedicated advocate for those with special needs and uses her voice to support those in need of accommodations at schools, workplaces, and public buildings. She also assists those who need help with appealing health insurance claim denials. Bonnie’s previous experience as a Director with SC’s Medicaid agency gives her a solid foundation for advising clients in Medicaid estate planning and nursing home negligence.
Professional, experienced, and compassionate – Lawyer Loomis assists a wide variety of clients with their legal needs.
In her spare time, Bonnie enjoys the beautiful outdoors with her husband, Chris, and daughter, Anna. She is also a proud parent to son, Joel, who is in college; son Robert, who lives in Utah with his wife, Ally, and daughter, Tyler, who resides in Arizona.
